17th Annual Mudd Volleyball Tournament

Saturday, June 11th, 2011 - It’s all about the kids!

9:00 a.m. Round Robin Games Begin @ Rio Bravo and 2nd

Make a Difference … in the mud!

Co-ed teams of 12.  Eight players must be on the court at all times, four of whom must be female.  All players must be 18 or older to play.  Co-ed recreational volleyball played in mud.  Five round robin guaranteed games, weather permitting, and rally scoring.  Winning teams advance to the playoffs.

The Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation has been providing assistance to New Mexico’s special needs children and their families since 1963.  Last year, more than 22,000 patient services were delivered to the special needs children.  With your support, the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation will continue to enhance the lives of thousands of special needs children across New Mexico.  Thank you for joining us this year and for your support!

Q: When does registration open?

  • Midnight, March 1st, 2011 - bookmark this page and be sure to come online early. We will SELL OUT this event. Space is limited.

 

We want you to have fun on Saturday, the 11th -- please be safe and follow the rules!

Q: What do I need to know this year?

 

  • TEAM CAPTAINS’ MEETING, Monday, June 6, 2011, 5:30 PM at Embassy Suites Hotel, 1000 Woodward Pl. NE (at I-25 & Lomas).  This is a mandatory meeting for all team captains to get your court and tent assignments and t-shirts.   
  • YOU CAN SET UP CAMP on Friday, June 10, from noon to 5:00 PM.  On Saturday, gates will open at 6:30 AM.  Arrive in plenty of time to find your team and your court.  Any team arriving late forfeits their first game. 
  • COME PREPARED, know the name of your team captain, the name of your team or the name of the company sponsoring your team.
  • GET CREATIVE … Win prizes for Best Team Name, Best Team Camp, and Best Team Costume.
  • ALL GAMES ARE RECREATIONAL.  Underhand serves only.  Rally Scoring.

Q. Is parking free?
A. Parking is free. Because the event has grown, space is limited.  Carpool! Carpool! Carpool!

Reminders:
As the Mudd Volleyball Tournament has grown larger each year, the continued safety of our participants is a major concern.  Therefore, the following rules will be enforced:

  • No tailgate parties
  • No REFUNDS.
  • No re-entry to the playing field. Carry all coolers, chairs, etc. in one trip.  Be sure you have your glasses, any medical needs (such as an inhaler or insulin, etc.) with you when you enter the playing field.
  • NO CHILDREN under 13 years of age. NO EXECPTIONS.

Q. What Should I Bring:

  • Cash or Card (for ATMs)
  • ID, only 21 years & over will be served beer
  • Shoes, you must wear shoes to play
  • Duct Tape, plan on taping your shoes to your feet
  • Protective Eye Wear
  • Towel & Change of Clothes
  • CARPOOL, CARPOOL, CARPOOL!

Q.  What Shouldn’t I Bring:

  • Alcohol, there will be a cooler search
  • Grills, food vendors will be on-site
  • Glass, no bottles or containers of any kind
  • Dogs or pets
  • Children under the age of 13
  • Jewelry

All proceeds from this event will go to the Carrie Tingley Hospital Foundation. Because of the charitable nature of the event, no refunds will be given.
